• (Page 2) •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-74-004
INSPECTION DATE 10/23/97 INSPECTOR`S INITIALS
OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made during an amendment pre-operat:_ons and routine
inspection of this open 222.7 acre quarry.
1) The boundaries are marked with fencing in some places, stakes in others, and a sign with
the DMG permit number was displayed near the office and scalehouse.
2) 31 acres are being added in two areas north and east of the main plant site. Area 1 (east
area) will be used as a storage area. At this time it is a truck turnaround and undisturbed
area extending down to HWY 40. Area 2 (north area) will be used partially as a storage area,
but mainly as a visual berm between the plantsite and the nearest neighbor, and is completely
undisturbed at this time. An electrical line running east/west across tYce amendment area
needs to be better labelled on the map, as well as a buried pipe which we suspect runs
underneath the north ridge. Exact acreages of the respective amendment areas will be
necessary prior to the amendment approval also.
3) No surface or ground water problems appear to be present on the site. At this time the
quarry appears to be completely dry.
4) Excavations into Parcel 3 (28 acres) have reached the west boundary of the permit area,
and concurrent reclamation is taking place. Highwalls appear to be stabile and uneroded.
Excavations in Parcels 2 (86 acres) are being reclaimed at this time, with the limits of this
parcel outlined although not exhausted.
5) The process and concrete batch plant areas appear to be maintained z~ccording to the
reclamation plan, with enough topsoil available and stored nearby to cover these areas during
final reclamation.
No problems were noted at the site at this time.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Julie Goettemoeller
OPERATOR Mobile Premix, Inc.
STREET 1590 W. 12th Ave.
CITY(STATE(ZIP Denver.
