Cartier from the Division of Minerals and Geology, performed a complete <br />inspection of the Hawk's Nest Mine in Gunnison County. The weather was cloudy with intermittent <br />snow. <br />B4lde: <br />The slide on the east end of the east portal (spring arse) was removed from old State highway 133 and <br />pushed onto the mine site south of the highway. <br />The sediment pond contains free water, but is at least three feet below the primary outlet. <br />FSah and Wr7dlde: <br />Heavy grazing of the new vegetation is evident through the site. <br />Revegetation on approximately 50 percent of the eastern portion of the site has failed, as well as small <br />arras on the,»rr,n,~ning site. <br />Erosion continues in the rills sus the eastern end of the site below old highway 133. <br />
