III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection, Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the npspecton and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology. The Rimrock Mine consists of approximately seven acres of reclamation. The <br />2004 growing season is the eleventh (11) growing season after reseeding. The ground was <br />very dry and the weather was unseasonably warm. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />The single sediment pond at the site was found dry. The pond still has significant sediment <br />capacity remaining. The embankment appeared in good condition but vegetation is sparse. <br />No erosion or damage to the embankment was noted. <br />Reveaetation <br />The mine has received no precipitation of any type since the last inspection. Ground <br />conditions are very dry. Cool season grasses are beginning to come to life for the season. <br />Cattle were again observed immediately outside the entry gate. No evidence of recent grazing <br />was noted. <br />Overall. the site appeared in good condition for the early spring season. <br /> <br />
