Relocation of 18-Right Ventilation Air Shaft road stored topsoil is pending approval of a <br />Technical Revision at the Division. <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE <br />The operation is in compliance with the general mine plan. Longwall mining had reached Station 19+88 in the <br />17 Right panel, and the continuous miner had reached Station 41+68 in the 19R Gateway. NW main <br />development was at Station 43+41. <br />Low quality coal was being processed in the wash plant, and coal mine waste was being hauled to the waste <br />disposal azea. <br />Coal was being shipped by truck and by rail. <br />FISH AND WILDLIFE <br />Raptor guard maintenance is required on one electric pole. Antelope, deer and raptors were observed within <br />the permit azea. <br />REVEGETATION <br />Long-term mining disturbed areas require eventual revegetation in the reclamation plan. Temporary vegetation <br />cover controls erosion in some azeas of surface disturbance. The small portion of tier 1 of Waste Disposal <br />Area 2 has been provided with permanent vegetation, and this portion of reclamation was in good condition. <br />As mentioned above, spraying for Canadian thistles appears to have very effective. <br />SUBSIDENCE <br />The effects of subsidence were observed over areas from roads. Effects are as anticipated in the PAP. <br />EXCESS SPOIL & DEVELOPMENT WASTE <br />Materials excavated during driving of the 18-Right Ventilation Shaft had been placed in the impoundment <br />excavated for that purpose. Dry at the surface, these materials will be covered for temporary, but-long term, <br />storage. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS <br />There has been no reclamation bond releases processed at the Foidel Mine site. <br />OTHER <br />The following documents were hand delivered to Walker by Nettleton during this inspection: <br />1) Peabody Twentymile Coal Company letter of August 8, 2004, Re: Foidel Creek Mine -Permit No. C-82- <br />056 First Half-Half 2005 Subsidence Report, with enclosures. <br />2) Peabody Twentymile Coal Company letter of August 7, 2005, Re: Foidel Creek Mine (Permit No. C-82- <br />C-1982-056.
