At the time of this inspection several piles of
materials were stockpiled. Portable separators and stackers were observed along with various mining equipment. Overburden
and topsoil placement activities were noted along the Southern edge of the permit boundary.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12. All
boundaries were clearly definable by fence and tree lines or the pit edge to be daylighted.
Reclamation efforts in the southwest corner of the permit has progressed with 3H:1 V slopes being developed. Revegetation
in this area is sparse with annual weeds making up a large majority of the ground cover. The operator will re-seed this area
when seeding of the next section of slope is undertaken.
Noxious and/or problematic weed infestation was observed within the affected area. The infestation, if not controlled, will most
likely hinder and/or delay successful reclamation of this site and contribute to off-site spreading and establishment of these
weeds. The approved weed control plan is either not being implemented or is not effective in it's current application. Please
indicate what measures will be taken to improve weed control and, if appropriate, submit a technical revision to incorporate
these measures into the permit. Weed infestation is noted as a problem, with the corrective action(s) and correction date
specified on the last page of this report. Significant progress toward control of on-site weeds must be demonstrated within
three years to avoid potential Board action. A copy of this report will be sent to the appropriate weed control authority for this
area. Along the paved haulage road, on the south side along the tree line a large infestation of knapweed was noted. The
entire site should be surveyed for noxious weeds again.
A reclamation bonding up date will be accomplished for this site in the next 30 days.
The operator appears to be complying with all aspects of the mining and reclamation plans currently in effect.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3'" Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
18 E Contact Address
NAME Alan Parkerson
OPERATOR Parkerson Construction
STREET 710 S. 15"' Street
CITY/STATE2IP Grand Junction.
