COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE /ln~ r-~ C,~f~~ -YJ~G
PAY, l ,~F¢ti 0~ ~~
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Marr Mine conducted by Jim Stark of CDMG. The
mine has been reclaimed. The weather was cold and sunny and there was about six
inches of snow on the ground, The area of the mine south of the facilities area was
inaccessible at the time of the inspection due to large snowdrifts.
Sians and Markers: All of the necessary signs were posted at the mine site and
loadout (Mine ID signs, topsoil stockpile signs, permit boundary signs, etc.).
Roads: -The access road to the mine site was covered with snow and drifts in many
places. Other parts of the road were free of snow due to the wind. The road
appeared to be well maintained and in good condition.
-The permanent light use road (former haul road) that remains on the site was also
covered with snow and drifts in spots but also appeared to be well maintained and
in good condition as well.
- The road to the loadout was covered with snow but appeared to be stable and in
good condition.
Hvdroloaic Balance: -Ponds A, B and C were not inspected at this time due to snow
cover.
- Pond D appeared to contain a very small amount of water at the bottom
(although there was some snow cover so it is possible that the pond was dry) and
was not discharging. The pond appeared to be stable.
- Pond E appeared to contain a small amount of water at the bottom as well but
was not discharging. The pond appeared to be stable at the time of the
inspection.
- Pond F appeared to be dry,
- Pond G appeared to be dry.
- All of the roadside ditches were filled with snow.
- The pond at the loadout contained water several feet below the discharge pipe.
This pond also appeared to be stable.
Fish and Wildlife: Although no wildlife was seen at the site at the time of the
inspection, there were signs that deer and antelope had been on the site recently.
Reveaetation/Reclamation Success: For the most part, the ground was covered with
several inches of snow and large drifts so it was not possible to ascertain the
condition of the vegetation at the time of the inspection.
