Pit 6: Center area of pit 6 has characteristic ponding as observed in previous inspections. Frogs heard at
this puddle. Few Houndstongue noted on permanent roadway but not seen on reclaimed vegetated area.
No other noxious weed species noted on reclaimed area. Backfilled slopes appeaz stable and do not
exhibit signs of slumping or gullying.
Pits 2/3: Access road to Pit Z/3 has been graded and is good condition, except for lower portion of this
road where up slope spring water has begun to downcut across roadway. This location was discussed
with AML in 1997. One waterbar was placed up slope of the seep but none were placed below the seep.
Backfilled slopes of Pits 2 and 3 are in good repair and no new mass movement features of erosional
gully features were identified. A slump below Pit 2, just east of the aspen glade continues to be active.
Entire grassy creek valley has active land slides occurring. Some appear downslope from reclaimed pit
areas other are located on the W est side of the valley unrelated to mvring activities. The Division has
concerns about two slides. One immediately West of Pond 4 and the other immediately W est of the
reclaimed highwall at the base of Pit 3. Division of Minerals and Geology will conduct an aerial
inspection to investigate these features fiufiher.
