The aerial photographs were <br />examined on February 3, 1998. No problems at the mine site were observed during the <br />flight. Some azeas of the mine site were covered in snow. <br />There was snow in all of the ponds. No discharges were evident. Embankments appeazed to <br />be stable. No problems were observed with any of the ditches or ditch riprap. <br />The paved main haul road was clear of snow and was passable. Coal was being hauled <br />down the haul road. The graveled haul road to the gob pile was also clear and passable. The <br />access road leading from the portal bench to the water tank was snow covered but had <br />recently been used. The light use road for water monitoring was snow covered. There were <br />no stability problems observed with the road cut and fill slopes. <br />The operator has started to place gob at the gob pile. Sediment control measures appeared <br />to be in place. No material offsite was observed. The operator has already submitted the <br />underdtain certification to the Division. <br />Only the south facing slope of the main topsoil stockpile was cleaz of snow. Most of the <br />gob pile topsoil stockpile was cleat of snow. Most of the topsoil stockpile adjacent to pond <br />B was covered in snow. No problems were seen concenting gullying. Sediment control <br />measures were in place. <br />The operator has erected the coal stacker tube but is still working on the crusher~screener <br />building. Coal is still being stockpiled on the portal bench. There were no stability <br />problems observed with the bench fills. <br />
