(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ti+-~On~~7n
INSPECTION DATE: X0/16/03 INSPECTORd INITIALS: n iw
OBSERVATIONS
This was apre-operational inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG along with Bill Wright, Baca County
Commissioner for District 2. The site is located approximately 10 miles northeast of Campo, Colorado. The pit
will be situated on the south side of the South Fork of the Cimarron River. The river is a dry ephemeral wash in
this area and the area where the pit is located slopes gently from south to the north and slightly west where it
sits just above the active channel of the wash. The permit area is located within a native prairie pasture
consisting primarily of blue grams and buffalo grasses.
There are no structures of concern near the permit area. There are livestock fences around the pasture which
generally serve as the permit boundary markers on the south and west side of the area and will remain in place
throughout the life of the operation. There appears to be ample topsoil available for reclamation with the
permit application indicating 6-12 inches to be replaced. The site visit confirmed this estimate. The mining plan
does not traverse any water courses and overland drainage should not be a problem. However, as mining
progresses, overland flow into the pit from the south should be monitored. If erosion problems occur as a result
of this flow, a diversion berm may need to be installed along the south perimeter of the pit to safely divert this
overland flow around the pit and into the drainage.
This concluded the inspection and no concerns were identified that would hold up approval of this application.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Bill Wriaht
OPERATOR: Baca Coupjy
STREET: 741 Main StraPt
CITY/STATE/ZIP: S~ringfiPl C'n Rln7~
cc: I' CE
I' BL
I' FS
t HW
I' HMWMD (CH)
t SE
I' WQCD (CH)
I' OTHER
