III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. No one else was present. The ground was dry. Vegetation has not yet <br />begun to turn green. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS <br />The records checklist is attached. The permit application pages that were revised in TR-10 <br />and in the most recent permit renewal are in the file, but need to be inserted in the <br />permit application document. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS <br />All signs and markers were properly displayed, including mine i.d. signs and stream buffer <br />markers. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />The pond was dry: its embankments and inslopes appeared stable. <br />The orange probable algal bloom reported last spring has returned to the side channel of <br />Trout Creek. <br />Ditches and culverts were in good shape. including ditch D-8, the perimeter ditches in the <br />facilities yard, and culverts C-1 and C-4. <br />The Swale in the county road was ~n good cond~t~on. <br />Caps were in place on both mom torin9 wells and no problems were found with either well. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES <br />No problems were found with the building ~n the facilities yard area. The berm surrounding <br />the yard area is in good condition. The 4-strand barbed wire fence along the county road <br />is falling down over a distance of approximately 150 feet. The fence should be repaired in <br />order to ensure compliance with the permit requirement that cattle not graze in the <br />facilities yard area. <br />SLIDES AND DAMAGE <br />No new rock falls are apparent on the former portal bench. <br />Page 3 <br />
