III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence
supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Blue Flame Mine conducted by Tom Gillis of the Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology.
The repaired subsidence feature at the top of the portal area was inspected and appeazed to be intact with no
additional subsidence evident.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
There are no ponds or ditches on the site
RECLAMATION SUCCESS
No problems were found at the site during this inspection. Despite some fairly heavy rains over the weekend, no
rills or gullies were evident on the regraded mine bench & access road cuts. With the exception of the area
disturbed in May 2004, revegetated areas have good cover and shrub density. Gambel's oak appeazs to be
gradually spreading into a majority of reclaimed surfaces from adjacent undisturbed areas.
