•
r
i
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #; M-1977-436
INSPECTION DATE: 10-13-00
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: (.RC
This was a Pre-Operational inspection done in response to an amendment application which has been submitted to add 156.8
acres to the permit area. The current permit area contains about 130 acres. Dry mining with dewatering has most recently
been done on the southern portions of the current permit area. Operations have been shut down for the winter but there are
still stockpiles on the site which may be removed as there is a demand for the material. A portion of the area of the
amendment to be added is currently permitted as Permit M-1982-148. Upon approval of the amendment ,this Permit will be
terminated and incorporated into Permit M-1977-436.
The new permit areas have been surveyed and marked. It was noted that there a several oil wells on the property as
well as pipelines. The operator has stockpiled more than enough topsoil on site to reclaim to disturbed areas. The main
concerns regarding the amendment area are that a substitute supply plan is in place prior to exposing groundwater and that all
structures within 200 feet of any surface disturbance are adequately protected or that agreements are made with the owners of
the structures.
One item in the application which was discussed during the inspection was the proposed cost of $2.50 / ft2 for slurry
wall construction. The Division usually uses $3.00 / ft2 for this cost.
Cc: Connie Davis
Aggregate Industries
PO Box 3121 Greeley CO 80633
I & E Contact Address
Cc: Paul G.
