(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1990-040
INSPECTION DATE 07/18/02
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
This was an inspection of the Stills on Patch Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of the Division
of Minerals and Geology. A permit has not been issued for the site because the performance
warranty and the financial warranty in the amount of $5,000.00 were never submitted to the
Division.
The Division obtained information from the Secretary of States Office to determine the status
of Colorado Mining/Smelting, Inc. According to the Secretary of State, the company does not
exist.
Attempts to contact the operator regarding the inspection failed. The Division inspected the
proposed site to determine if any mining was conducted. The proposed operation is located
in French Gulch approximately 4',4 miles north of Breckenridge in Summit County, Colorado.
The application submitted to the Division was in the form of a 110(2) Permit to affect 10
acres in size. The mine was to be a gold operation. The Division noted no mining or
reclamation disturbance in the location of the site. The only disturbance noted in the area
is associated with a housing development under construction and road work along French Gulch.
Rule 4.1(2) of the Hard Rock/Metal Mining Rules and Regulations states that if the
Performance and/or Financial Warranties are not received within one calendar year of approval
for any new permit, the Board shall hold a hearing to reconsider the previous approval. The
Division recommended approval of the Stillson Patch Mine on May 15, 1990. The application has
been pending and awaiting the financial warranty in the amount of $5,000.00 for over 12
years. The Division will schedule this matter at the next available Mined Land Reclamation
Board Hearing to reconsider its previous approval of the application. Notification to the
operator will be sent under separate cover.
I ~ 8 Contact Address
j' CE
NAME Mr. J.
