(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1989-077
INSPECTION DATE 5/28/04 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
OBSERVATIONS
This was an inspection of the Colorado Alabaster site conducted by Erica Crosby of the
Division of Minerals and Geology. Stanley Jones was present during the inspection.
An 110c Mining and Reclamation Permit was issued to Colorado Alabaster Supply on August
28, 1999 for a total permit area of 2 acres. The site is located 25 miles northwest of
Fort Collins in Larimer County, Colorado. The Division holds a financial warranty in the
amount of $1,500.00.
A mine identification sign was posted at the entrance to the site. No mining was taking
place during the inspection. According to Stanley Jones, the area is mined only a few
days out of the year. A front end loader is used to remove the material and it is hauled
into town. Five different layers of alabaster are present. The layers range from 10
inches to 4-5 feet. Moat of the material is underground where it is protected from wind
and water erosion.
The site contains a small area of disturbance leas than 1 acre in size. A portion of the
alabaster outcrops, but the remainder is underground. Any alabaster that is left out to
weather is unstable for sculpture because of the cracking and chalking of the stone. Some
topsoil has been salvaged for reclamation
No problems were noted during this inspection.
I & 8 Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Mr. Stanley Jones ^ BL
OPERATOR Colorado Alabaster Supply ^ FS
STREET 1507 N.
