• (Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-77-081
INSPECTION DATE 7 26 96 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GSC
OBSERVATIONS
This was a monitoring inspection conducted with Mr. Greg Lindsay and Mr. John Pinello
of western Mobile. The permit consists of seven phases, A through G. Most of the operation
has been mined out and the operator estimates that the remaining gravel will be depleted in
about two years.
This is a phased 112 operation with 4 pits having been completed. Phase E currently ie being
dewatered, mined and concurrently reclaimed. Mining was taking place in the eastern portion
of Phase E with topsoil being stripped and stockpiled in advance of the mining operation.
Backfilling and slope grading was taking place along the south side of the phase. Topsoil
is stockpiled along the southern and eastern perimeters of the phase.
Prior to moving into Phase E, mining had been completed in Phase D. The southern portion of
this pit has been backfilled to the original ground level and is covered currently with
weeds. This will need to be re-seeded with the approved seed mix.
Topsoil stockpiles are located in Phase D and between Phases C and D. All topsoil
stockpiles are currently stable.
An above ground fuel farm is located in the southern part of Phase F. According to the
operator, this is no longer being used.
The financial warranty is sufficient for this operation.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Greg Lindsay
OPERATOR Western Mobile
STREET 1800 N.
