A request for temporary cessation was submitted on 8-1-2005 with a
retroactive start date of 2002 and ending the first 5 year period in 2007.
All problems noted in the 12-8-2004 report have been adequately addressed. The junk cars have been removed, the increased
financial warranty has been submitted, the weed control plan was submitted, and this temporary cessation request was
submitted. The weed control plan will need to be incorporated into the permit through the technical revision process, buf the
plan is in DMG files. Knapweed, tamarisk and Russian olive remain a major problem at this site, but continued controls on a
semi-annual basis with reported results should bring this problem under control. Weed control must continue throughout the
temporary cessation period and be reported in the annual reports.
The site appears to be stable and secure.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME Eric Rekentine ^ BL
OPERATOR Lafarge West.
