ORIGINAL -PUBLIC FILE
Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ti+-I eaa-n~8
INSPECTION DATE: Inr~I/ns INSPECTOROS INITIALS: ~~
OBSERVATION
The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site on 10/21 /05. The site is a large 1 12 sand and gravel
operation located approximately 2 miles South East of Boone Colorado. The site was active at the time of the
inspection. Permit sign was properly posted at the access to the property. The total permitted acreage is 339
acres of which 300 acres can be affected in Phases or with the appropriate warranty increase each time the
affected acreage increase. To date the operator had obtained an approval via five technical revisions to
affect a total of 99 acres. The entire affected acreage was driven walked and inspected. There were a large
quantity of processed stockpiled materials scattered through out the affected area. Top soil/ overburden stock
piles were properly protected. A small quantity of asphalt which appeared to be from an old road removal
project was noted along the South East part of the active pit area. The storm water management berm along
the North West side of the active mining area appeared to be in good repair.
A Small amount of noxious weed mainly Tamarisk was noted along the West side of the affected area. The
amount noted was no more than what was noted in adjacent undisturbed area of the permit. In addition the
operator has a noxious weed control plan in place.
The financial warranty for the total 99 affected acreage is $371,968, which is more than adequate to cover the
cost of recalamtion. Permit sign and boundary markers were properly posted.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: MR JOE BAXTER
OPERATOR: MIDWAY AGGREGATES LLP
STREET: P_nAnX 580
CITY/STATE/ZIP: RYF, cal ~RAn~ 8In~9
CC:
Harry Posey (e-mail)
cc: r CE
All overburden/ topsoil
r BL
r FS
r HW
r HMWMD (CH)
r
r sE
r WOOD (CH)
r OTHER
