III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of Colorado DMG. No one <br />represented the operator during the inspection. However, Tom Liedick of Montgomery <br />Watson, the operator's consulting firm, was on site. The inspection was conducted on <br />August 18 and 19. There was rain on the first day but the weather was dry on the second <br />day. <br />S1P_TIS and Markers <br />The mine id signs on the west side of the mine site and on the west side of the gated <br />entrance road were up. The mine id sign to the east of the gated entrance road has fallen <br />down and needs to be put back up on its posts. <br />The topsoil sign has fallen down at the office area topsoil stockpile and needs to be put <br />back up. <br />oads <br />The county road passing through the mine site was in excellent shape. The mine site <br />entrance road was also in excellent condition. The gate was locked. The road leading <br />down to the sewage pond, next to the surface facilities area, has a gully which should be <br />taken care of soon. <br />H d~rology <br />There was very little water in ponds C, F and G. The water level was 2 feet below <br />discharge at ponds A, B and E and 3 feet below discharge at pond D. All of the <br />embankments appeared to be stable. There had been some recent work on the pond A <br />embankment. This area needs to be reseeded if not already done. All spillways were <br />functional. No problems were noted at the sewage pond. <br />
