III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Coal Gulch Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. No one else was present. <br />The permit for this mine was revoked more than l0 years ago. DMG's IML program had reclamation work done <br />on the site in September 1994. <br />Vehicle access from Hwy. 160 into the Coal Gulch site was blocked with a cable. No changes were found on the <br />site compared to last month's inspection. <br />Hvdroloaic Balance <br />The mine seep from the hillside that often flows into the lower pond was dry. The water level in the lower pond <br />was several feet below the primary spillway culvert. The pond's embankment dam appear in good shape. <br />Slides and Damaee <br />No new slope stability problems or erosion was evident. <br />
