III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the North Thompson Creek Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of DMG. <br />No company representative was present during the inspection. The North Thompson Creek Mine is in <br />reclamation only status. The inspection involved viewing one areial photograph taken by Harry <br />Rariney of DMG on May 9, 1997. <br />Roads The road leading into the North Thompson Creek Mine appeared to be functional and in <br />good repair. <br />Hydrologic Balance The long pond, treatment ponds and sediment pond contained water. All pond <br />embankments appeared to be stable and well vegetated. No major erosion features were noted on <br />the reclaimed portions of the mine site. <br />Backfilling & Gradino The backfilled and graded areas adjacent to the ponds and haul road <br />appeared stable and well vegetated. <br />
