• • (Pa9e 2) •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-83-084
INSPECTION DATE August 22, 1995 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS TAS
OBSERVATIONS
1. A site inspection was made of the Snowstorm Placer to evaluate the demolition costs for
the water pipeline and supporting facilities as well as the 2nd processing plant located
immediately east of the active pit. These costs will be included in the Division's estimate
of a current reclamation cost and will be discussed during the meeting with Mr. Free
scheduled for August 28, 1997 at 1:30 P.M. in Denver.
2. The pipeline consists of 10" diameter heavy PVC for approximately 4,070 linear feet and
9" diameter steel pipe for approximately 130 linear feet, totalling 2922 cubic feet. The
cost for removal of the pipeline is estimated to be $526 (2922 cu.ft. x 0.18/cu.ft.). The
estimated cost to remove the associated pump, generator, fuel tank, and concrete foundation
near the fresh water intake is $1,474. Therefore, the total cost for demolition of the
pipeline and associated structures is $2,000.
3. As noted in the previous inspection report, the operator has begun construction of a 2nd
processing plant immediately east of the active pit. There are two (2) concrete slabs
totalling approximately 300 square feet. The cost to remove these slabs is $948 (300 sq.ft.
x $3.16/sq.ft.). There is also approximately 2250 cubic feet of steel. The cost to remove
the steel is $427 (2250 cu.ft. x 0.18/cu.ft.). Therefore, the total estimated demolition
cost for the existing structures is $1,375.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Bernhard Free
OPERATOR Snowstorm Sand & Gravel
STREET 50928 Hwy 9, P.O.
