(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-2002-046
INSPECTION DATE 12/23/02
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
This inspection was preformed as part of the normal review process established by the Colorado Division of Minerals and
Geology for a new application. This site was previously inspected on 4/29/02 for the original permit application. DMG staff felt
a second visit was warranted because of the lapse of time and amendment to the application. The inspector was accompanied
on site by operator s representative Gayle Lyman.
The site of the proposed 112c gravel operation is located southwest of the intersection of 29 %. and D Roads. Total proposed
acreage for the permitted area is 104 acres of which 81 will be mined.
The correct public notice was observed at the maih entrance to the area as required under Rule 1.6.2 (b).
Current land use is agricultural in nature. The land owner intends to keep land in such use until it is time to mine a particular
phase of the operation.
The operator s representative stated that buildings noted for destruction had been issued demolition permits by the city. A
general discussion was undertaken pertaining to the amendment and Preliminary Adequacy Review underway. No major
issues have surfaced and the operator is concluding the notification of adjacent landowners process. The proposed wetlands
bank has been modified. The operator is working with the Corp of Engineers on a plan for the undisturbed portion of the permit
designated for this purpose. At the present time, the bank will not be constructed as originally proposed. The operator hopes
to address the wetlands bank in the future.
No issues were noted pertaining to the existing site that are not referenced within the permit application or amendment under
review.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3`° Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Gavle Lvman
OPERATOR Ephemeral Resources, LLC.
STREET 1225 South Seventh Street
CITY/STATE/21P Grand Junction, Colorado 81501
cc:
^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WOCD (CH)
^ OTHER
