III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or
evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado DRMS. No one represented the operator
during the Feld inspection.
Roads
The Hubbazd Creek road was in good condition, as was the mine access road across Hubbard Creek.
The light use road to pond 5 was passable.
Signs and Mazkers
The mine ID sign was up on the gate. Also on the gate was the records location sign. The surface
disturbance markers were up around the disturbed area.
Hvdrologv
Pond 4 was dry. The pond embankment was stable and very well vegetated. The culvert leading into
pond 4 was clear. There was a little standing water in pond 5. Pond spillways were operational. The
collection ditch leading into pond 5 had plenty of capacity. There was no water coming out of the
underdrains. The Hubbazd Creek culverts at the mine entrance were clear.
Reclamation
The reclaimed main mine site azea appeared to be stable. The slopes and terraces were well vegetated.
The reclaimed coal stockpile azea was also well vegetated.
c:/word/blueribbon/insp 1007
