The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken <br />during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Eastside Mine conducted by Jim Stark of <br />CDMG. The mine has gone through a Phase II Bond Release and is in year nine of its <br />liability. The weather was cold and cloudy and it was snowing lightly. The ground <br />was covered with light snow/frost at the time of the inspection. <br />Availability of Records: All of the necessary records were available at the Garfield <br />County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs. See the records checklist at the end of <br />this inspection for more details. <br />Signs and Markers: The permit area markers were in place. The mine ID sign was up <br />at the main gate and was in good condition. <br />Roads: The mine access road was stable and in good condition at the time of the <br />inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the road. <br />Hydrologic Balance: -The riprap ditches from the mine site to the canyon bottom <br />were stable and in goad condition. There were no signs of problems wit any of the <br />ditches. <br />- The area of the reclaimed pond appeared stable and well vegetated. <br />Backfilling and Grading: All of the backfilled and graded areas remain stable. <br />There are no signs of cracking or settling in the backfill. There are no erosional <br />problems at the site. <br />
