(Page 2) E.3 MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-81-236 INSPECTION DATE 5 14 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CLK OBSERVATIONS The following observations were made as part of a routine inspection done after the Division was CC'd on a complaint letter to the Bureau of Land Management. The letter stated that there were boundary concerns, and worries that the Operator had disturbed area outside the permit, so DMG decided to double-check the site. This site was originally permitted as a 110 9.9-acre operation. Approximately 3 acres were disturbed at some point in the past by the County, but the current permittee says that he has never mined there. All boundaries were marked with stakes and were measured with a measuring wheel and a compass. The site roughly resembles a polygon with a square omitted in the southern corner. The following measurements were taken, starting at the southwestern corner: 550', 100 degrees East 1040', 2 degrees North (to the quarter section marker) 46' past the boundaries along 270 degrees north, then 232' along 260 degrees north (equipment storage prevented direct measurement of the 290 degrees West direction to the next marker) 430'(approx), 218 degrees North 167', 166 degrees North 435', 212 degrees North back to the point of beginning. The excavation is approximately 200' x 300'-450'; between 1.4 and 2.0 acres. Equipment is stored in an area approximately 200'x 200' (1 acre) and the cost for removal will be added to the total reclamation costs. No problems are apparent at this time.
