<br />INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 2 <br />FILE N0. M-78-014 <br />DATE: September 11, 1985 <br />OBSERVATIONS OF IMPORTANCE: <br />1. Site was inspected even though Mr. Leidch was unable to attend. <br />2. Site is a depicted in application except the access road from Alameda <br />directly into Stage 1 is not shown on any map. <br />3. Activities related to the mine are confined to Stage 1 area which has been <br />extensively worked. Clay is stockpiled in trench area through middle of site. <br />4. Rancher is using area near Stages lc2 for personnal usage. <br />5. Proposed reclamation drainage area will tie into existing culverts that go <br />under Alameda. <br />6. Secondary power line runs parellei to and on mining side of map depicted <br />power towers. Operator needs to insure 200 ft setback from these secondary <br />poles during mining or else agreement per 1.56(5) is required. <br />7. Slide 6-10 Overview of site from high point of Stage 1. <br />11-13 Stage 1 area from access road leading into Stage 1. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />1. Submit a new map for exhibit D (map D-1) accurately portraying new access <br />road and secondary power line. <br />2. Operator should consider seeding the outslope of the excavation area to <br />reduce wind and water erosion on this slope. <br />/yt <br />Doc. No. 3492 <br />
