The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. The mine has gone through a Phase I and Phase II Bond Release on all but
approximately nine acres. The mine is currently in its tenth year of liability. The
weather was cool and cloudy and the ground was covered with several inches of
snow.
The mine site was still inaccessible due to snow at the time of the inspection and but
will probably be accessible in May.
Shrub parcel HG-08 was viewed from the county road. The parcel was covered with
snow at the time of the inspection. The parcel appeared to be stable. The pond
contained water and was discharging at the time of the inspection (although the
pond is no longer a part of the HG Mine permit).
The 1997 slump area and shrub parcel E was inaccessible at the time of the
inspection.
Shrub parcel 003 was viewed from the county road. The parcel was covered with
snow but appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. There were no
erosional problems noted on the parcel. Pond 003 appeared to contain water but
was not discharging at the time of the inspection.
