_ (Page 2) • •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1990-062
INSPECTION DATE 04/25/01 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
This was an inspection of the Chris Aaegeson Pit conducted by Erica Crosby of the Colorado
Division of Minerals & Geology. Charles Kuntz of Washington County District 2 was present
during the inspection. Weather conditions were clear and warm. Ground conditions were dry.
The Chris Aaegeson Pit is located 15 miles North and 9 miles East of Otis in Washington
County. A 110 permit was issued to Washington County on June 11, 1990 to mine approximately
9.98 acres in size. The permit was amended in 1996 to establish new boundaries of the pit.
The old portion of the site was released (approximately 6.17 acres). The new area was added
on (approximately 6.06 acres) for a total permit area of 9.87 acres.
A mine identification sign was posted. The Division was unable to locate permit boundary
markers. The operator will need to post permit boundary markers delineating the permit area.
See page 3 for compliance due date.
The site is no longer being mined. Backfilling and grading is nearly complete. A few piles
of pit run material will need to be scraped up and removed. The backfilled area is fairly
level with some slopes reaching 4h:ly. The operator stated that topsoil would be hauled in
for reclamation because none was available to salvage. Washington County anticipates
reclamation to be completed this year.
I 6 E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Charles Kuntz ^ BL
OPERATOR Washington County Dist. 2 ^ FS
STREET 610 1" Street ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Otis, Colorado 80743 ^ HMWNID (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
Cc: Carl Mount; DMG
~. # 700 /~ 7~ ~~a~ ~s~i ~~/~
