III, COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Sunlight C-1981-046
Pg 1/1 17 Nov 04
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Sunlight Mine conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on
Friday, 18 May 2006. The site was deserted. The weather was mild and sunny.
The upper road was stable and well vegetated, with a variety of grasses -western
wheatgrass, wild rye, timothy, and fortis including yarrow, lactuca and mullein.
The old opening on the upper level was sealed and appeared stable. There was no sign of
instability on the slope above the opening or on the reclaimed crib slope between the upper
road and the county highway.
A few thistle were growing on the lower level but very few weeds other than that. Vegetation
was good.
The old portal below the road has collapsed in front of the seal. The seal itself has retained
its integrity. (see photo)
