~~ ~ •
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-14Rn-744
INSPECTION DATE: ~-n~-ni INSPECTORS INITIALS: -B~
The Division conducted a monitoring and construction progresses of the Highway 67 relocation and PHASE
II III auxiliary pond AND I. Present during the inspection was Mr Phil Barnes of CC&V. Prior to the physical
inspection of the site, a brief discussion was held in the office about the possibility of placing run off mine
material along the North Side of highway 67 below the Arequa Gulch waste storage area. Mr. Barnes
explained that they would like to place approximately 100,000 tons of the material for shorter haul
distance. He was informed that the Division will not object to the idea and after further discussion with
supervisory staff in the Division, Mr. Barnes was informed to submit a Technical Revision, which he agreed.
The physical inspection began around the area where the run off mine material will be stockpiled. Since
there is already an existing sump below where the material will be stored, no additional surtace water
runoff control structures will be needed. Continued the inspection to the Squaw Gulch area. The storm
water detention basins were in place as discussed in the 12-20-00 inspection, where they were referred to
as the Arequa gulch detention basins in error. According to Phil, the growth medium stockpiled along the
West Side of these detention basins will be stabilized at the present location rather than moved to a
permanent stockpile location. No major problem noted.
Continued the inspection to the phase III area, where the temporary diversion was being placed. No major
problem noted. While in the area, the following readings were taken from the Phase II high and low volume
transducers. Phase II HIGH VOLME PUMP # 4 WAS STILL NOT FUNCTIONING, PUMP # 5 MEASURED 36.0
FEET OF HEAD, PUMP # 6 MEASURED 37.3 FEET OF HEAD. LOW VOLUME PUMP # 1 MEASURED AT .14 FEET
Of HEAD AND # 2 MEASURED .19 FEET OF HEAD. Work on the highway relocation and Phase I, II AND III
Auxiliary pond was continuing no major problem noted. Topsoil was still being moved from the main
storage area north of the ARD building to the south east side in anticipation of the high way relocation.
I & E Contact Address ^ OTHER
NAME:
OPERATOR:
STREET:
CITY/SPATE/ZIP:
JAMES STEVENS
cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
