III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence
supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Blue Flame Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division
of Minerals and Geology. Prior to May 2004 DMG had last conducted reclamation on this site in May 1993. In
May 2004, DMG had a subsidence feature at the top of the portal area regraded and a diversion ditch was
excavated around the regraded area. The ground was wet from rain that had started just before the inpection.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
There are no ponds or ditches on the site.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS
No problems were found at the site. Revegetated areas have good cover. Shrubs and grasses are developing in
the diversion ditch excavated in May 2004. Much of the ditch is rock.
