Tom Dykes of Colorado City
Metropolitan District accompanied the inspectors.
This pemut was converted in 2000 from a 110 to a 112 type of pemut, in response to a Boazd Order. The pemtit identification sign is
properly posted and the permit boundaries aze mazked.
The mining operation has not changed much since the last monitoring inspection, on Febmary 3, 2000. Only a small area in the
northeast comer has been excavated and that excavation resulted in a highwall with approximately a 3h : lv slope. The topsoil
salvaged from this azea was placed on top of the lazge topsoil stockpile on the north side of the pit.
The mining operation is in compliance vrith the permit and regulations.
Other than pit slopes being mined to reclamation grades, no reclamation work has been started.
Mr. Dykes stated that the District may attempt to Amend the pemvt, in the future, to add acreage adjacent to the west side of the
present pemtit azea.
The reclamation bond was calculated by the Division in response to the permit conversion, and was provided by the operator in 2001.
There has been very little change to the operation since the conversion. There aze several acres of land that remain undisturbed but are
included in the reclamation cost estimate /bond calculation. Most of the mine perimeter has been mined to reclamation grade. The
bond is adequate.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Frank Main
OPERATOR: Colorado CitX Metropolitan District
STREET: Pn Rox 1939n
CITY/STATE/ZIP: C~hrnrln City Cn R1019
cc: Harry Posey- UMG via email
Kathleen Sullivan- DMG via email
