A site inspection of the Walstrum Quarry was conducted as a follow-up to the Division's <br />previous inspection on February 22, 2002. The purpose of the inspection was to take <br />specific measurements to be used in the reclamation cost estimation of the current <br />reclamation liability at the Walstrum Quarry. Present during inspection were Al Frei Jr. <br />and Steve O'Brian. Various photographs (slides) were taken and are attached to this <br />report. <br />2. Mr. O'Brian indicated that there is approximately 33 acres of disturbance at the quarry. <br />Under the terms of the existing permit, the operator is allowed a maximum disturbance of <br />50 acres at any one time. The existing financial warranty is $75,000. <br />3. During the inspection, there were three (3) mature Rocky Mnt. Bighorn rams grazing on a <br />partially reclaimed slope in the southwest portion of the current disturbance. <br />4. The following observations and measurements were taken during the inspection: <br />Demolition reinforced concrete, to be disposed o£ on-site <br />30 slabs @ 1' x 3' x 10' <br />35 trailer loads of non-roadable misc. equipment <br />Mob/Demob total of 6 pieces of equipment <br />2 dozers, D8N <br />1 motor grader <br />1 water truck <br />1 tractor & broadcast seeder <br />1 15-ton crane (for loading non-roadable equipment) <br />Backfill & Grading <br />1) Planting Berm along Clear Creek, 8' x 4' x 750' <br />2) Slot/Fill area - $500 finish grading of waste material <br />3) Phase Z - reclaimed to commercial use, has not been topsoiled <br />(will need to change post-mining land use for this <br />4) Phase X - undisturbed, ready to be released <br />5) Phase A - undisturbed, ready to be released <br />6) North Highwall 800' x 85' x 53 degrees <br />7) South Highwall 679' x 270' x 45 degrees <br />8) West Highwall 497' x 176' x 83 degrees <br />497' x 348' x 40 degrees <br />9) East Highwall 1,255' x 240' x 43 degrees (upper portion) <br />200' x 205' x 26 degrees (upper corner) <br />1,255' x 45' bench (40' to 50' wide) <br />1,255' x 398' x 40 degrees (lower portion) <br />and seeded <br />area) <br />
