-~.
III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
General Comments
This was an aerial inspection of the McClane Canyon Mine, covering the mine portal area, haul road, and
support facilities (office, sediment pond, soil stockpiles, etc.). The images were recorded by Harry Ranney of
DRMS on a flight of 9/26/06. The images were viewed by Dan Mathews of DRMS, on 10/3/06. DRMS had
conducted a ground inspection of the site the day prior to the aerial inspection (see report issued 9/29/06), and
conditions documented in the imagery appeared to be consistent with conditions described in the 9/29/06
inspection report.
Weather on 9/26 was clear and dry, and there was no flow in McClane Creek. It appeared that the haul road
and stockpile area had recently been watered for dust control.
Please refer to the 9/29/06 inspection report for a more detailed discussion of site conditions
3
