TYPE OF MINE: <br />Open pit. <br />2. MATERIAL MINED: Sand and gravel. <br />3. ESTIMATED TOTAL NUMBER OF ACRES DISTURBED: Approximately 10 acres. <br />4. MINE, MILL, EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: Scale house, crusher, and <br />dewatering facilities. Large gravel stockpiles on site. Open pit with <br />water. Large topsoil or overburden piles exist. Operation 15-20 from <br />adjacent irrigation ditch canal. Dewatering into adjacent ditch. <br />5. ACCESS DESCRIPTION: Enter on improved gravel haul road from <br />Willox Lane. <br />6. TOPSOIL STATUS: Some topsoil may have been salvaged. <br />Possible topsoil piles to the south and west of the pit. <br />7. VEGETATION STATUS: <br />Depleted in mine area. <br />8. SITE STABILITY: Pit slopes are steep and some erosion <br />and mass movement is occurring. <br />9. ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD(S): Many pit slopes are near vertical, bordering <br />submerged drop-offs.
