(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1984-152
INSPECTION DATE 4/28/2004
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted as part of DMG's ongoing monitoring program for permitted mines in
Colorado.
No significant erosional features were noted on the affected areas of the site.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12.
No significant infestations of noxious or other problematic weeds were noted though there are some thistle rosettes on the
topsoil stockpile that will require control to prevent spreading and infestation..
The pit was currently inactive for excavation. Some trucks were loading from stockpiles.
The highwall has been knocked down from vertical to an approximate 3:1 grade, leaving the topsoil pile located at the highwall
crest. Operations will soon begin to move overburden to the crest of the pit outslope to begin reclamation in the mined out
portion. Pit floor storage is limited at this site, so only a small acreage can be reclaimed at this time.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
I & E Contact Address
cc:
^ CE
NAME Kevin Hunt ^ BL
OPERATOR Montrose Countv ^ FS
STREET 161 South Townsend ^ Hyy
CITY/STATE/ZIP Montrose.
