III. COMMENTS • COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observaUOns made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action <br />This was an aerial inspection flown by Harry Ranney of the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology (Division) on Wednesday July 27, 2005. Kent Gorham of the Division reviewed <br />seven oblique aerial photographs in the office on August 1, 2005. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />ReveQetation <br />Areas reseeded in 2004 and before are showing signs of good growth. Areas seeded in <br />2005 are visible as yellow patches due to mulching with oat straw. <br />Water was visible in ponds 5. 6. 7, and 8 at the reclaimed pit area and in pond 10 at the <br />loadout. It appears that a storm the previous day did hit this area but to a lesser extent than <br />at the New Elk mine to the west. <br />
