,~

C~
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-87-164
INSPECTION DATE 8/10/2000
(Page 2)
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS TAS
1. A pre-operation inspection was made of the Camilletti Pit (approximately 2 miles east of
Hayden) as the operator has recently submitted an application for a 112 conversion. The
operator has proposed a conversion from a 9.9 acre Limited Impact Permit to a 21 acre Regular
112 Permit. Present during the inspection were Tony Connell and Art Morrissey of Connell
Resources. Inc.
2. Signs and markers were posted in conformance with Rule 3.1.12.
3. The proposed amendment area was inspected. The operator has propsed an expansion of 11.1
acres to the south of the existing pit. The mining and reclamation plan for the amendment
area will be very similar to the existing plans. Mining will be occur with dry mining
methods into a hillside. Mining will progress to the south. There are no water resources
or permanent, man-made structures of concern. The only possible concern noted with expansion
is the limited occurance of toadflax. This inspector recommended that a weed control plan
be developed for this noxious weed.
4. There is approximately 6-8 inches of topsoil available for reclamation. The operator has
done an impressive job of contemporaneous reclamation in the existing 9.9 acre permit area.
Where possible, slopes have been backfilled and graded to 3:1 H:V or less, and topsoiled.
Overburden at the site averages 8 feet in depth and is used in backfilling and grading to
achieve the desired reclamation contours. Mr. Connell explained that the Camilletti Pit is
being excavated in 2 acre increments. The Camilletti Pit is a very "clean" and well managed
operation.
I & E Contact Address
~ CE
NAME Tonv Connell ~ BL
OPERATOR Connell Resources, Inc. ~ FS
STREET P.O.
