(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1977-tf,R
INSPECTION DATE: g-nF-ni
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ~K-
The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site as part of sites to be inspected in the fiscal year
2001-2002. The site is a small two-acre permit located approximately 3 miles West of Texas Creek,
Colorado in Fremont County. Mining consists of removing granite from outcrops. Most of the ROCK THAT IS
MINED IS USED AS HEAD STONE AND FLAGSTONE, according to Mr. Tezak, who was present at the time of
the inspection.
Approximately half acre appeared to have been disturbed. According to the permit records, operator does
not appear to have the right to access and mine the commodity. Since the land belongs to BLM, the Division
informed the operator of the problem and requested the operator to be in compliance with Rule 6.4.14 of
the Hard Rock Mining Rules and Regu{ations. Once the right to enter and mine the property is resolved, the
financial warranty will be recalculated at that time. The operator will be given the option at that time, to
either post the warranty with the Division or BLM. At the request of the operator and BLM, a 6-month
period to resolve the issue is granted by the Division, from the date of the inspection.
Permit sign and boundary markers orooerly disalaved.
I & E Contact Address
~l~
I(~7C DO~o OIC~3~ x,01
NAME: Mr. Bill Tezak
OPERATOR: Colorado Quarries ~ f700
STREET: 770 So lSM Street
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Canon C'itv,- CO R1717
JAMES STEVENS
cc: ^ CE
^ BL DR CHARLIE FAIR
^ FS BLM
^ HW 3170 EAST MAIN
^ HMWMDCH CANONCITY,CO
^ WQCD (CH) $1212
^ OTHER
