The 1993 photograph, however,
showed a aignificantiy smaller number of coniferous trees, seemingly indicating a reactivation of
landslide activity during the a-berveriing period.
As has beam discussed in previone inspecflon reports, correspondence and docamento, it ie
apparent that the Muffier Rock landslide experienced additional movement and activity daring the
spring of 1997. Mr. Mautz believes that May 5, 1997 was the date of eig~rificant movement
activity at Mnfller Rock. This date coincides within a few days, with the time period that the
longwell panel moved past the MntIIer Rock area, u indicatted on a map entitled "Jumbo
Mo~tain Panels and Lend Slide Area^ (dated 8/21/9 which was provided by MCC dining the
inspection.
The a~spectiort concluded et the Mentz rrsider-ce at approximately 2:30 p.m.
cc: Dave Berry
Snean McCannon
run Pendleton
3
