~.-
An inspection was carried out over the days of September 21 and 22, 1999, on exploration activity of Cottonwood
Land Company. Jim Burnell of Dib1G did the inspections. accompanied by Rick Tifft, representins Cottonwood
Land and Rob Emst of BLNI. Sites associated with both NOIs CX-96-219-00 and CX-96-219-U I were combined.
Sites with the designator PDH are non-federal and fall under CX-219-00: sites designated FED-.xx fall under
CX-319-01.
The roads are all recommended for release. I~tanv of the roads were pre-existing: most of the others were requested
by the landowners to retain. Those that were reclaimed wire all done very well.
PDH-3 (BE96007). Site contains a monitoring will. Site is heavih• gazed by sheep. This is state land where the
pad is surrounded by thistle. The pad itself is mostly cheatgrass. There is some native enss comine through, but
the cheatgrass dominates. Site should be sprayed in the early spring and reseeded with aggressive native gasses.
PDH-5 (BE96001). Grading very good and vegetation good. Recommend release.
PDH-8. No drillin, done at this site.
PDH-9 (Be96002). Good earthwork. Good vegetation. Scattered thistle, but not enough to prevent release.
PDH-I I (BE96012). Located in a cultivated field. No further reclamation necessary.
PDH-13 (BE93013). Lies in a cultivated field. No further reclamation necessary.
PDH-14 (BE98014) Lies in a cultivated field. No further relcamation necessary'.
PDH-li (Be96005). This site is directly adjacent to a cultivated field. No litrther reclamation necessary.
PDH-16 (BE96003) Good earthwork. Revegetation is all grass and very complete. Recommend release.
PDH-17 (BE 96004) Reve, etation is eood with excellent grass and even shrubs returning. There is some thistle
scattered about, but the site is releasable.
PDH-13 (BE96006) The area including the pad has been heavily grazed. But earthwork and vegetation is good.
Recommend release.
Site PDH-25 (BE97025). Reasonable revegetation. The drill pad looks the essentially the same as the surrouttdin~
field.
Site PDH 23 (BE97023). Still a monitoring well on the site which is in the middle of a cultivated field. No
reclamation needed.
PDH-31 (BE9703t). This lies in a cultivated field. No further reclamation necessary.
PDH-32 (BE93032). Good regrading and revegetation. Recommend release.
Site PDF1-33 (BE 97029). In a cultivated field and the pad has been plowed and planted.
Totals for NOI CX-96-219-00:
34 sites completely releasable for gradin, and revegetation; all roads ve releasable.
1 sites need sprayed for weeds (PDH-3); 1 sites should be reseeded (PDH-3.)
Monitoring wells have been retained on the these sites: PDH-±, PDH-18 (3); PDH-23; PDH-29.
