III. Comments/Compliance <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on May 15, 2006. The <br />weather was mild, sunny and windy. The mine site was deserted and quiet. <br />The signage at the entrance to the main mine site was correct and in place. There was no <br />sign on the topsoil pile at pond F; the signs were on piles at pond G. <br />The portion of Pit 1 area that opens to the county road was stable, with no erosion visible. <br />Vegetation was visible through the snow. The pit 1 area in general was well-vegetated. <br />There was some erosion down the south-facing slope at the south end of the 720 pit near <br />pond A. There was also some erosion in the old Marr pit area on the east-facing slope <br />across the road from the facilities area. <br />The Pond G contained just a small amount of water. The dam appeared stable and the <br />emergency spiflway was clear. The dam and embankments are sparsely vegetated. <br />There was no erosion at pond F. The dam was stable and there was no discharge. <br />Pond E was not discharging although the water level was right at the weep hole. The dam <br />was stable. <br />There was water in pond A below the discharge level. The dam was stable and the <br />emergency spillway clear. <br />Pond B contained water about 36 inches below the discharge level. The dam was stable <br />and the emergency spillway clear. <br />
