ORIGINAL -PUBLIC FILE (Page 2) MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_19An_19~ INSPECTION DATE: Q/1.'~rns INSPECTOROS INITIALS: ~- OBSERVATION The Division conducted a pre-operational inspection of the site after receiving comments from the Army Corps of Engineer which indicated that their might be unnamed tributaries of Brackett Creek and Steels Fork, which was not indicated in any of the maps submitted with the application or any of the County Maps with in the amended area. When the site was inspected on 8/26/05 there were no defined channels noted in the proposed amendment area. When the Division contacted Diana Humphreys of the Army Corps, she stated that even though she did not conduct the site inspection, the USGS maps indicated that there were these two tributaries. I informed her that when I did the site inspection all I saw were grassed waterways no defined channels of any kind. She said if there were no defined channels and all the area was covered with grass, it might not fall under the jurisdiction of the Army Corps. Because the comments were made regarding these two tributaries and the USGS maps do indicate these tributaries a second site inspection was warranted. The Division invited the Army Corps to be present during the inspection, but Diana was unable to attend. The entire Amended area was walked driven and inspected, as reported in the previous inspection; no defined channels or tributaries were noted. All the area was well vegetated with out defined channel ways. The natural flow in the amended area is towards the south and it was covered with a lot of vegetation. The site is as reported in the previous site inspection. Some one had cut off the Amendment application notice from the fence to the exiting pit, Mr. Tom Smith properly put the sign up as required in the Rules.
