(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1976-038
INSPECTION DATE: 1-11-06
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology. The Meeker Pit is located south ofMeeker on County Road 4. Operator representatives Joe
and Katie Corrado accompanied the inspector.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12.
The sign is located at the entrance to the site. Fence lines that are easily discernable primarily mark permit
boundaries.
The site is active with multiple stockpiles ofprocessed materials being used. The inspector noted cement trucks and
other equipment coming and going from the site.
Current excavation is primarily focused on the west side of the permit area. The inspector noted topsoil was pushed
back adequately to expose raw materials. Current topsoil stockpiles are adequately protected with grass cover.
Some areas near the east side are close to being finished and reclamation will be a focus of this azea soon.
The inspector noted some trash piles and old equipment. But also it is apparent the operator is actively cleaning up
the debris, so this is not an issue.
No significant infestations of noxious or other problematic weeds were noted on site during this inspection. The
operator in fact is one of the few that submits an annual report from the County Weed Control with its required
Annual Report.
The inspector noted that fuel storage is within a concrete secondary containment stmcture. No sills or other issues
were noted at this time.
Stormwater appears to be contained on site. No evidence of erosion, sedimentation or off-site damage is noted.
The inspector will review the Financial Warranty within 30 days, The operation is in compliance with the approved
mine plan and reclamation plan. Therefore, the current financial warranty will be updated with current tasks to
ensure it is adequate to reclaim the site per the approved reclamation plan.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3`d Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-
1117.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME: Joe Corrado ^ BL
OPERATOR: Meeker Sand and Gravel ^ FS
STREET: P.O. $ox 1550 ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Meeker, CO 81641 ^ HMWMD (CH)
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
