III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
This was a complete inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of the CDMG on the afrernoon of
Febn~ary 12, 2001. Weather was overcast with warm (snow-melting) temperatures and a brisk
breeze blowing up-canyon. The mine site was quiet and deserted.
The access road was a mess. The lower mile or so was extremely muddy with deep mts from
recent vehicle traffic that were conning with meltwater. Higher up the canyon, the snow was
still unmelted, with 3 or 4 inches inmost places of crusty snow on the road.
All the signs were correct and in-place.
There was no sign of instability or erosion on the lower access road at the mine site. Likewise,
the upper access road was stable.
The ditch at the bottom of the lower bench was snow-filled. There was no dischazge from any of
the underdrains from beneath the mine benches.
Ponds 3 and 4 were dry. Pond 5 contained a some snow and ice.
The gate was secured at the access point and the bridge was in good condition.
