ORIGINAL -PUBLIC FILE
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_I9Rn_~ee
INSPECTION DATE: 6/7/n7 INSPECTORS INITIALS: ~~
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a bi-monthly inspection of the site on 6/7/06. Present during the
inspection were Tim Comer and Gary Goodrich. The area had received a considerable amount
of rain the past week, which was evident through out the permit area. According to Mr.
Goodrich, at present the total PPT. Is about 200 above normal?
Inspected the Cresson pit Ares. The main and East Cresson were active, storm water
diversion structures in the area were found to be in good repair. Even with the. above
normal rain fall the area received to date, all the structures appeared to have functioned
as designed. Those sumps that received additional sediment were being mucked out in
anticipation of the rainy season for the area, which is usually from June thru the end of
September. Backfilling of the East Cresson pit is continuing. No problem noted.
Inspected the old Pad #3 & 4 areas. Spent ore removal in anticipation of the mine
extension is continuing. Ponds 9, 10 &11 were being drained, once all the water is drained
liner will be folded and buried and backfilled, and reclamation to commence soon after
that.
Inspected the Phase I, II, II&IV Leach pad areas and collected the following readings from
the High and LOw Volume SOlutiOri Collection Transducers.
Phase I High Volume Solution Collection Transducer #1 was recorded at 7.0 (read out meter
still not functioning) #2 was at 26.7 and # 3 was at 26.6 piezometer for the pond was at
56.7 feet. Low Volume solution collection transducer #1 was recorded at .29 and # 2 was at
.25. Phase II &III High Volume solution Collection transducer # 4 was recorded at 27.2 #
5 was at 24.6 and # 6 was at 27.6. Piezometer for the pond was at 29.1 feet. Low volume
transducer # 1 was at.14 and #2 was at.36. '
Phase IV High Volume Solution Collection Transducer # 7 was recorded at 41.6, #8 was at.
41.8, #9 was at 42.2 and # 10 was at 42.5. Low Volume transducer # 1 was at 10.1 and # 2
was at 4.4 inches of hydrostatic head. A small area above (west) of the low volume
transducer read out location on the lined area had some ponded water from the recent
storm. This area had similar problems in the past & CC& it will not pond. However during
the recent storm, the area was unable to handle the drainage from the pad and ponded water
was noted. CC&V PLANS to drain the water and come up with a workable diversion plan, so
this area will not pond in the future. Inspected the Iron Clad Globe Hill area, looked at
the area where a new Engineering and Geology staff office building will be constructed.
The draft copy of the building which will be submitted as a TR will be provided to DRMS as
soon as possible. All the ponds for the Victor mine pads were holding a lot of water, all
was below discharge level.
Inspected the External pond, it was holding more water than last report. Low volume
Solution Collection transducer # 1 for the pond was recorded at 10.4 and # 2 was at 12.8
inches of hydro static head.
Inspected the under drain area, both the south and 4 inch pipes were discharging at much
higher volume than last inspection. The north under drain and solid 24 inch pipes were
dry. The lower pond next to the pump back station was holding water. All the other ponds
were dry. The diversion sump dissipation ponds were holding water indication of the recent
ppt. event in the area.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: TIM COMER
OPERATOR: CC&V
STREET: P_(~ ROX 191
CITY/STATE/ZIP: vicme c~i nRAn~ an>i~n cc: r CE
