III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
This was a partial inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on the afternoon of June 12, 2001.
Weather was warm, partly cloudy and windy. The mine site was deserted.
Hubbard Creek was running at low levels, more typical of August.
Both the lower and upper benches appeared stable. There was no sign of erosion. Vegetation
covers the benches, but not thickly.
Ponds 3, 4, and 5 were all dry. There was no water in the ditch and no discharge from any of the
underdrains.
The upper and lower access roads were stable with no signs of erosion. The access road to the site
was in good condition.
NOTE: Thistle has invaded the north end of the lower bench, scattered among the rocks at the
base of the slope and on the Pond 5 embankment. There is some tamarisk at the inlet end of Pond
5. These should be sprayed early before seed development.
