The ground was dry as there had been no precipitation for a few days. With the
operator's consent, this report was issued from the Denver office.
Availability of Records
All required records were available (see attached list).
Signs and Markers
A mine i.d. sign was properly displayed at the entrance to the site.
Roads
The mine entrance road was well maintained. Roads were being sprayed for dust control. There was
a fair amount of truck traffic and it was not creating a dust problem.
Hvdrolooic Balance
The water levels in both ponds were a few feet below discharging. The culvert connecting the two
ponds appeared in good shape. Embankments and inslopes appeared stable. The primary and
secondary spillways appeared in good condition on both ponds.
The diversion ditches on either side of the surface facilities area were in good condition.
The swale in the road that directs yard and road drainage to the small pond was in good condition.
Processing Waste
The waste pile showed no evidence of instability. The top of the pile was dry and appeared to slope
gently back from the face. The face of the waste pile was not excessively Bullied or rilled. Ditches
diverting water from the top of the pile were in good condition.
Weed Control
Weed control is needed for a patch of white top on the embankment of the west pond.
