(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1986-037
INSPECTION DATE 08-28-2003
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted as part of DMG's ongoing monitoring program for permitted mines in
Colorado.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12.
No significant erosional features were noted on the affected areas of the site.
No significant infestations of noxious or other problematic weeds were noted on site during this inspection.
Topsoil/overburden has been pushed up around the perimeter of Pit Area No. 1 and the exposed rock appears to have been
drilled and shot, creating riprap of various sizes. No explosives, loose or stored, were noted around the site.
CDOT is reminded that stockpiled topsoil is to be revegetated or otherwise stabilized against erosion and weed infestation.
Additionally, the annual report will need to specify what mining operations have taken place, over what acreage, and what
reclamation tasks have been completed, including topsoil stabilization. Review of the recent annual reports found no details
about the mining operations conducted since the previous inspection (3-16-2000).
Pit area No. 2 remains undisturbed by mining operations.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME Eric Prieve ^ BL
OPERATOR Colorado Department of Transportation ^ FS
STREET 4340 East Louisiana Avenue ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Denver.
