Present
during the inspection were Ron Roberts and Phil Barnes of CC&V. Inspected the Phase III area. Highway
relocation and temporary diversion work was continuing. The area had received a considerable amount of
precipitation and temporary storm water diversion structures in place appeared to have functioned as
designed. Acwrding to Ron, while grading for the highway relocation, a few underground workings were
encountered and back filled in a similar manner and specification as approved in Amendment # 8. The
Divison requested a copy of the location map for these workings and a narrative of how the workings were
back filled. Operator agreed to provide the requested information for the Division's file.
Continued the inspection to the Phase II pregnant solution collection area, no problem noted. While in the
area, the following readings were collected from the high and low volume solution collection system
transducers. Low volume pump # 1 was recorded at .OS feet of head and # 2 were recorded at .08 feet of
head. High volume pump #4 was recorded at 17.1 # 5 was recorded at 10.7 and #6 was recorded at 15.7
feet of head.
Inspected the external pond construction. All liner work is completed, according to Phil Barnes, certification
report would be submitted to the Division in a couple of weeks, once the fence around the pond is in place.
Briefly discussed the possibility of placing some kind of hazing device once the pond becomes operational.
Phil stated, that CC&V will look in to some sort of a device if and when it is considered necessary at some
time in the future, once the pond is operational. Since under amendment #8 approval, the wad cyanide
concentration in the pond is not to exceed 40ppm, a hazing device might not be necessary. The lined area
was walked and inspected along the perimeter, no major problem noted. The pond was holding some water
from the recent storm.
Inspected the underdrain area, highway relocation bridgework was continuing.
Both the 4" pipe and the south under drain 24" pipe were discharging at the time of the inspection.
Inspected the phase IV, soil nail wall construction for the new crusher, south west of the existing crusher.
No problem noted.
While in the area, inspected the Moffat portal area. The entire area was walked an inspected. There was no
discharge coming out of the portal and no ponded water noted in the area. Portal was properly protected
and secured. There was a very small puddle of water at the base of the cribbing along the county road. The
origin of this small puddle of water appears to be from the wet lands located in the natural drainage west of
the portal entrance. No problem noted.
I & E Contact Address ^ OTHER
NAME: Mr. Scott Lewis
OPERATOR: CC&V
STREET: P.O.BOX 191
CITY/STATE/ZIP: VICTOR, CO ROR6n
JAMES STEVENS
cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
